Workshop Descriptions:

Visual and Versatile Test Plans - Video Game Style

Lets talk about how we can make test plans work for you. Rather than having a dead document that provides little to the team after its first created, we can create living, visual documents that empower the team to understand what we're building.

Come ready to explore your options for test planning.

Quality/Delivery Management from 0 to 100MPH

With every new game company, comes a new QA team. Without a clear roadmap for how to start one, QA leadership professionals have to come up with a strategy for creating the department from scratch. This talk aims to help quality and delivery practitioners and professionals in senior & leadership roles create new departments by using real examples of this process in action.

The first part is a case study in department creation. Ariel Smith, QA Producer at Echtra Games, Inc. will explain how Echtra created its QA team by focusing on the needs of the development team from Pre-Alpha to the Launch of Torchlight.

In the second part of the talk, Myron Parks, Director of Quality at Rangle.io, will discuss building QA teams with an emphasis on going beyond just QA, and instead broadening the scope of the team to deliver the product to customers.

Speakers:

Chelsea Curran Adams - QA Manager @ Riot Games

Ariel Smith - QA Producer @ Echtra Games

Myron Parks - Director of Quality @ Rangle.io

Chris Rando - Senior QA Analyst @ Epic Games
