Event description

Description

This event is focused on empowerment and confidence building for those under-represented in technology through education about the legal system and employment law. It will cover at will employment, 1099 v employee status, an overview of applicable laws, handling discipline/conflict, and how to create a paper trail to protect yourself. Stop being scared by learning about how the legal system works and how/when to contact a lawyer.

Speaker: Lisa Clay, JD

An independent Chicago lawyer with 15 years in practice, Ms. Clay has significant experience in employment law. As a solo practitioner she assists small businesses and individuals with practical and effective solutions to problems arising in day-to-day management, employment, and commercial disputes. She works hard to avoid litigation whenever possible, but pursues it when necessary.
