UNCW Presents: Write Wilmington
Event Information
About this event
Last November, UNCW's beloved Writers' Week was held virtually to accomodate the needs of this strange, pandemic time. Enthusiastic readers and writers, whether amateur or professional, participated in staggering numbers from all over the US and the world. It proved a simple fact. We are hungry for opportunities to share experiences, sit in community, learn, and reflect.
The Department of Creative Writing at UNCW wants to meet this need for fellowship via a new initiative called Write Wilmington. From March 19 to April 30, we will gather every Friday from 9 to 9:45 am for a free writing session. Each session will be held on Zoom and led either by a faculty member or a graduate student. Instructors will deliver prompts and guidelines, and everyone attending will write together, the goal being not to create a perfect poem or story but to push our imaginations, exercise those creative muscles, and generate drafts that may be polished later.
Join us for a session of Write Wilmington! All are welcome!
**Scheduling Addendum: EJ Schwartz will lead April 9th's session and Tim Bass will lead April 30th session
