Take your musicianship to the next level, or embark on a new learning adventure!
Our professional teachers are here to help you find the options that work best for your family. All events are free, but registration is required. Free demo lessons are available for voice, piano, guitar, percussion, and many woodwind and brass instruments. Call the UNCSA Community Music School office at (336) 734-2950 to inquire about lesson options for instruments not listed here.
8 Week Musikgarten classes will be held on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings starting The 3rd week of January. Interested families can participate in our Musikgarten Demos at this open house. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start times listed below and be sure that you and your child wear socks and cloths that are comfortable for movement. The Musikgarten classroom is a "no shoes" zone!

String instrument sizing, rentals, and purchase with The Violin Shoppe
We are excited to have Glen Alexander from the Violin Shoppe in Charlotte joining us with a collection of quality student string instruments for demo, rental, or purchase from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. The Violin Shoppe has been a wonderful partner for the Community Music School for the past year, and we encourage our students to consider the Violin Shoppe when renting or buying string instruments. They can deliver instruments and accessories straight to the Community Music School, which has been very popular with our busy parents!
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
It's never to early or too late to start music lessons! There are many benefits to regular music study. Check out our website to learn more about how music study helps the brain and body. Our Musikgarten classes are open to children ages 6 months to 5 years. Suzuki violin starts at 3 years, and private lesson students can enroll from ages 4 and up.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
