You are cordially invited to a Virtual Training on Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions for Advisory Board Members.
This session aims to make advisory board members more aware of unconscious bias and microaggressions. By the end of this session, attendees will have developed strategies for dealing with these situations in everyday life, interactions with fellow board members, and the diverse communities they serve.
Following this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe how unconscious bias impacts decision-making
- Recognize and respond to microaggressions
- Practice allyship for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment
- Apply strategies for mitigating unconscious bias

William Thomas is a Diversity and Inclusion practitioner with international perspective, who has consulted in a variety of locations around the world to support the effectiveness of teams, leaders, and organizations. He serves as Program Manager for Training and Education in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity.
Cheri C. Wilson, MA, MHS, CPHQ
Cheri Wilson is a nationally recognized diversity and inclusion, cultural and linguistic competence, and health equity subject matter expert. She serves as a Program Director for Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity.
