Event description

Description

In our fast-paced lives, we are constantly engrossed and distracted with our daily routine, our family, our careers, and our social life. The burden of life often feels very consuming and exhausting, leaving us with little time or energy to pause, rejuvenate and release the heaviness of the day.

When we are so occupied and busy, how do we retain a sense of relaxed alertness?

How do we feel rested, lighter and more engaged?

Join us for a inspiring evening with former Buddhist monk Nithya Shanti, a much loved ambassador of conscious living, famous for the healthy dose of humour and light-heartedness in his teachings.

We will explore really simple, effective and fun ways to unburden and elevate ourselves on a daily basis. Join us for an evening devoted to the art of rest, freedom, lightness of being, awareness and happiness.

WHO IS NITHYA SHANTI?

Having completed his MBA and whilst working in the corporate sector, Nithya could not shake off the inner urge to pursue his own spiritual journey. In 2002, he ordained as a Buddhist monk living in the forest meditation monasteries of Thailand, Sri Lanka and India.

After 6 years of living as a monk, he was guided to live, learn and serve in broader ways than the traditional role of a monk permitted. With the blessings of his teachers he stepped out of the robes in early 2008 and has since dedicated his life to share joyful teachings in workshops, youth programmes, corporate training and meditation retreats around the world. Check out Nithya’s talk at TedX:

Nithya Shanti also offers a free Podcast called "Spreading Happiness" which you can check out here.

Over 300 of his talks are available to listen to at www.SoundCloud.com/nithya-shanti
