Event description
A 45-minute talk with a national leading expert in the space of child development taking place during the Futurebound Summit.

About this Event

What is the Futurebound Summit?

Futurebound is a movement of entrepreneurs, investors, nonprofits and other public- and private-sector leaders coming together to fuel innovation in child development. Our next generation is depending on us—and we can’t afford to wait. The Futurebound Summit is a time to catalyze the Colorado ecosystem focused on young children by bringing everyone together.

Futurebound is partnering with Uncharted to host a four-day summit in Denver that will bring together ventures, investors, leading experts, policymakers and more for a series of events and workshops that will supercharge innovation to change the future of child development.

Unbounded Expert Talk: "Focus on Home-based Childcare: Policy Levers and Promising Innovations"

Family, friend and neighbor care is the most prevalent type of non-parental care in the US at 23%. Yet this sector has received far less attention than center-based infant/toddler or preschool care. Economic and political dynamics are driving greater recognition of the need to grow and strengthen home-based care.

This workshop will look at the opportunity for innovators inside and outside the FutureBound community to be a part of developing solutions rooted in the unique challenges facing home-based childcare providers, such as low pay and reimbursement rates; lack of training; stress and social Isolation; and marginalization based on language and ethnicity.
