Event description
UNA Mid-Peninsula is celebrating this year's UN Day with discussions about Climate Action, including a performance!

About this Event

What is UN DAY?

On October 24, 1945, the United Nations was created. Every year during October, UNA-USA and all of its chapters host events centered around a certain global issue for their local communities. This year's theme is focused on stepping up to confront the defining issue of our time: Climate change. This is our planet and our future!

More On This Year's Theme:

The United Nations has declared climate change the defining issue of our time. Climate change is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities, and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow. Weather patterns are changing, sea levels are rising, weather events are becoming more extreme, and greenhouse gas emissions are now at their highest levels in history. We agree that it’s time we all commit to immediate climate action. That’s why our theme for UN Day 2019 is “Our Planet. Our Future.”
