Event description

Description

We would like to invite you to participate in the 6TH Annual Mater Academy Foundation Fundraiser, which will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2017, from 7:30pm - 1:30am at SLAM, located at 604 NW 12th Avenue, Miami, Florida, 33136. This year we will host a UMater Vice, Black and White Themed Gaming Night Event and although you may find it hard to believe, this year promises to be even more fantastic than last year!

The Golden Admission Ticket to this event will cost only $50.00 ($75 at the door) and will include unlimited hors d’oeuvres, two drink tickets, and $2,500 in playing chips. Prizes will be granted by raffle throughout the night. Whether you play, dance, participate in our silent art auction and/or come to the event just to mingle with Mater Friends, you are guaranteed a good time and it's all for a good cause. Feel free to dress in your favorite Black and White Cocktail Attire.

As this promises to be a great fundraiser, we would like to invite you to serve as a sponsor for the event, and be a part of the event’s success. Last year we had over 400 participants, and anticipate even greater interest and participation this year. To that end, we would love for you and/or your company to come and share a night where we will celebrate education, game for a good cause, and have the chance to win great prizes. Participation can include sponsorships, art piece donations for the silent auction, donations for the prize raffle, and/or tax-deductible monetary contributions. We welcome and appreciate any help you and/or or your company can provide.

If you are interested in Sponsoring the event, please look over the sponsorship package options and contact us with questions at jessicastewart@materacademyfoundation.org or via telephone at (786) 797-1935. We encourage the purchase of tickets or sponsorship commitment through this event website (http://www.umaterblackandwhite.eventbrite.com). Sponsorship package options and other ticket information are also included herein for your convenience.

In closing, whether you come to uMater Vice, Black and White Party to play, dance, participate in our silent art auction and/or come just to mingle with Mater Friends, you are guaranteed a good time. Moreover, your participation will be true philanthropy; as the Mater commitment provides that 100 percent of the net fundraising will benefit the students, schools and communities that Mater serves.

Thank you for participating in the Mater Academy Foundation Fundraiser!

Let's "Game-it-Up" for a Good Cause!

Sincerely,

Antonio L. Roca, Esq.

Mater Academy, Inc.

About the MAter Foundation - In case you aren't already aware, the Mater Academy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on aiding economically disadvantaged students and families by encouraging philanthropy and teaching students to share and seek resources to benefit their community. Proceeds will support educational opportunities for students, teachers, and families in Mater communities. For the past four years, our fundraising efforts and this event in particular have been a huge success, allowing us to:

  • Implement an Adopt-a-Family Project to aide needy Mater Families;
  • Motivate teachers to introduce innovative methods in their classrooms by providing funds for grants;
  • Enhance student potential by providing student scholarships for college and grants for summer enrichment experiences; and
  • Fund academic field trips including college tours for high school sophomores and juniors, Close-Up Field Trips to our nation’s capital, academic achievement reward field trips to students who attained their academic goals. These travel experiences bring our mission of helping our students be college-bound and college-ready to fruition.

Future plans include further developing an alumni association while simultaneously cultivating the Mater presence in the post secondary landscape, wherein students will feel supported by their Mater family and in turn bring their new professional experiences back to Mater schools and Mater neighborhoods.
