The Ultimate Fat Bike Challenge, proceeds benefitting JDRF, will be a 30 minute (estimated) time trial using a multi-lap format on groomed trails. Fat Bike riders will compete to log the fastest total time to ride a predetermined number of laps on a closed course.
Each lap will be approximately 1.5 miles in length. NOTE: As weather and snow/trail conditions can have a dramatic impact, race coordinators will estimate the suitable number of laps based on a 30 minute race length for the Expert(A) Level riders. The actual number of laps will be announced on Wednesday, February 24th, posted both on the event’s registration site as well as emailed to all registered riders.
We will offer three race categories for both men and women ranging from A (expert), B (sport), to C (beginner). No Tandem category.
Registration: Pre-Registration is required.
(Mininum 0f 25 riders registered by 2/22/16 or event will be cancelled.)
$20 Registration fee until 11:59pm on Friday, February 26th.

The race will start and finish at Ridge Point Community Church. This will be the same location (just outside) as the Ultimate Cycle Challenge, an indoor team fundraising event taking place the same day. If you are not already planning to participate in both events, be sure to come in and check out what the Ultimate Cycle Challenge is all about.
This race is for anyone who wants to find out what the new fat bike craze is all about as well as for those who already know and just want to challenge themselves and friends for bragging rights. Riders will range from elite road, cycle-cross, and mountain bike racers to those of you just looking for a fun new challenge.
This is a Fat Bike Only event. Riders will only be allowed on the race course on bikes with 3.7" wide (or wider) tires.
Timing: We will be utilizing RFID overhead chip timing services.
Parking: Convenient parking close to the start/finish.
Number Pick-up: You may pick up your bib number with timing chip starting Friday night at 7:00pm at Ridge Point Community Church. Use the South entrance, the same area as the Ultimate Cycle Challenge registration.
Awards: Post-race awards will be held indoors in the Ridge Point Community Center after the race.
Prizes to the top finishers in each category
Fastest Lap Awards to the fastest male and female individual lap
Demo Area: We are also trying to set up a separate Fat Bike Demo Area for those just interested in trying out a fat bike in a non-competitive manner. If we are able to set up this demo area, there will be several demo fat bikes available on a first come first serve basis.
