Description
Join us for a special lunch-time event focusing on the seminal publication U&lc. The magazine became an important reference point for many designers working with typography, and paved the way for other magazines like Emigre. Herb Lubalin was the main driving force behind the magazine as its Art Director and Editor-in-Chief. The designers who were instrumental in the creation of this magazine will share their stories of working with Herb Lubalin, and provide a sense of what it was like to create this iconic magazine. Ellen Shapiro, Jason Calfo and Ilene Strizver will contribute to the discussion.
The event is sponsored by Monotype in conjunction with their exhibition Pencil to Pixel, and is organized by Type@Cooper and the Herb Lubalin Study Center.
