Delegation is an important management skill. It can allow you to focus on your main objectives, as well as show faith in your staff’s capabilities.

With this topic, you learn about the theory, behaviours and frameworks behind effective delegation.

This topic shows new managers how to delegate, and allows more experienced managers to refresh their skills or consider how to deal with a specific challenge.

After completing this topic, you will:

• know how to allocate work to make the best use of available resources;

• understand what’s appropriate to delegate and who to delegate to;

• be able to develop the skills of the people around you.
