Event description

Description

Back at the waterfront for another night of ukulele music - Holidays Edition! A cup of something warm with cinnemon or nutmeg sounds pretty good while jammin' to some Christmas favorites!

Join us at LizzyKate (specialty tea shop) to learn to play the ukulele and jam with some new friends!

The Uke session is FREE, drink items are available for purchase. In addition to teas and tea lattes, there's also kombucha on tap and in bottles to take home! A great dinner option before or after is "Just Poke" next door to LizzyKate

6:00pm - 6:30pm: Lessons for brand new beginners, or anyone wishing to learn more about uke basics. Beginners are welcomed to stay after to participate in the jam session from 6:30-8:30pm

6:30pm - 8:30pm: Holiday themed group jam session and individual performances (open-mic). Experienced players are welcomed to join or skip the beginner's session from 6:00-6:30pm

As with always, all are welcomed at this cozy venue and solo performances are encouraged! Sheet music and ukuleles will be provided based on reservations (limited quantity), please message the event organizer via Facebook should you need to borrow a uke for the session.

Capacity: 20 Seats available. This event becomes available for general public registration exactly 2 weeks prior to the event (11/22/18)

What songs are we learning to play on the ukulele? TBD

We apologize in advance for reaching capacity quickly. We intend to keep a small group size both for the nature of the session as well as because of space constraints. Please join the Uke Society Facebook Group & follow our Facebook Page and we will make sure to notify and give you priority in our next session.

Please understand the session is designed primarily for adult ukulele players, but all ages are welcome!

If you have any questions, please contact davidliu@ukesociety.com

About Uke Society:

Uke Society partners with small, local businesses to provide free ukulele sessions in the community. These sessions include: technique workshops, beginner to advanced group lessons, and related social gatherings and performances.

We believe by drawing people together with music, we can make an impact on 3 major areas in the society:
1. Music discovery: People will begin or progress on a music journey
2. Stronger community relationships: By providing the community with a place and time to enjoy music, more people will have the opportunity to support local businesses in return
3. Make friends and have fun: Because we can all take a break from our digital devices
