Stories From the Field

Application and use of Theory U in practice

Friday 6 October 2017

Following the previous UK network sessions in Oxford and Stroud, this day will be an opportunity to:

  • Connect with fellow practitioners and hear/share stories of how Theory U has been used, adapted and applied in different contexts, in support of systemic change - including U lab Scotland, NHS and community-based initiatives
  • Explore your own questions about the use and application of Theory U, and the kind of enabling conditions needed to support sustainable change
  • Refresh and experiment with Theory U and related processes, in support of personal and systemic change
  • Reflect on who we are as a Theory U community and what we have energy for going forward, individually and together

We will use the U process as a basic framing for the day. The design will involve a mix of methods which we will flex according to the group, for example;, spaces for connection, mapping the field, case clinics, story-telling, social presencing/movement and Open Space.

We’re delighted that alongside others, practitioners from U.lab Scotland will be joining us to share their story of applying Theory U into practice at a national level, with over 1300 people taking part in over 90 hubs across the country.
