Event description

Description

Coffee farming families around the world face enormous challenges, putting them, and your delicious cup of coffee at risk. The Partnership for Gender Equity works to ensure farming is viable for all members of the family – women, men and youth, on whom the industry depends.

Join us for an informative, fun and inspiring evening to:

  • Learn how gender inequities impact farming families and communities

  • Understand how the next generation of farmers could be losing interest in agriculture

  • Participate in a lively discussion to get to the heart of the issues

Suggested donation is 20 GBP. All funds raised will go to support the Equal Origins initiative of The Partnership for Gender Equity

Gender in Coffee – A Documentary follows the path of coffee from a smallholder farmer household in Chiapas Mexico into the roasters and cafes where it is enjoyed. An intriguing look into an issue that is taking on more and more prominence in the industry and among consumers.

Kimberly Easson, Founder and Strategic Director of the CQI Partnership for Gender Equity will share her experiences from working more than 20 years with coffee growing communities around the world. You’ll see too why investing in all members of coffee farming families is critical to the wellbeing of the entire coffee supply chain.

This event is generously hosted by Tate Coffee which offers carefully hand crafted to perfection by the Tate Coffee team on the grounds of the Tate Britain. Tate Coffee has its own Gender Equality Project (GEP) which attempts to raise the agenda of gender equality by championing women coffee producers and family farmers who equitably share household income, resources and decision-making.
