Last year the UKHA were delighted to revive a Harp Christmas Party in South Wales, a tradition long upheld by Telynau Morgannwg, who have been pleased to support the UKHA in this venture. We are thrilled to be hosting the second UKHA Christmas party in Wales this year.
- Student harpists from across Wales perform solos, duets and ensemble music.

We are delighted to offer the opportunity for harp students of all ages and abilities to perform a solo, duet or ensemble set as part of the evening. Teachers please book your students in ASAP as slots will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Gillian Green is one of Wales’ most treasured harpists and ambassadors of the instrument. She has received many prestigious awards including recognition for the outstanding way she has promoted a high quality of life in social care through the medium of music and an MBE in recognition for 25 years working with Live Music Now. Gillian was one of the first specialist music students to attend Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. She furthered her studies at Cardiff University and was a harp tutor for the Mid Glamorgan authority for many years. Gillian was a co-founder of Telynau Morgannwg and the administrator for Coleg Telyn Cymru (The Welsh Harp College.
Llywelyn Ifan Jones & Catherine Lawlor: Both 1st class alumni of the RWCMD, Llywelyn and Catherine ventured overseas for their Postgraduate studies. Winner of an International Lyon and Healy award, in 2014 Llywelyn was also chosen for the late Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now scheme as a soloist. Catherine recently moved back to the U.K. after working in New York as a freelance Violinist performing in various venues across the city. Between them, they have performed in more than a dozen countries in this year alone. They will present some of the flavours from their travels in their programme.
