As a part of the Sumter County Extension office’s joint educational program with Dade Battlefield, a presentation on “Wildflowers at Dade Battlefield State Park” will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Lodge at Dade Battlefield followed by a tour and hands-on instruction on how to maintain your wildflower beds. The tour will end at 11:00 a.m. UF/IFAS Urban Horticulture Agent, Brooke Moffis, will be our speaker. You may choose to be a spectator or to work with us "hands on." If you decide to work with us, please come early as you will need to fill out some paperwork for the park; also, bring your gloves, pruners or clippers and be ready for a fun, learning experience.
We urge you to come out and enjoy this event while visiting the beautiful Dade Battlefield State Park located off SR 476 at 7200 County Road 603, Bushnell, FL.The public is invited to attend this event free of charge. A $3 entrance fee per vehicle to the park is required.
