Our Lakes & the Monsters that lurk within............
Science Cafe will focus on our lakes and the monsters that may be lurking within......and we will be introduced to those lurking lifeforms by Mark Hoyer, a master limnologist!
Mark Hoyer is the Assistant Director of the Florida LAKEWATCH Program of UF/IFAS School of Forest Resources and Conservation, Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and has a Master of Science in Limnology (fresh water science). Lloyd Singleton, UF/IFAS Extension Agent who is active in our local LAKEWATCH Program, will also be taking part.
Join us for dinner and an education in general water chemistry, local aquatic wildlife in relation to water health, and identification of invasive aquatic weeds. We will also be discussing gators, birds, fish, hydrilla, water lettuce and even grass carp.
