UF/IFAS Range Cattle REC, UF CALS Prospective Student Workshop & Expo

Do you know someone who is interested in going to the University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (UF CALS) as a freshman or transfer student? If so, let them know to save the date and plan to attend the UF CALS Prospective Student Workshop & Expo at the UF/IFAS Range Cattle REC on Thursday, June 29. This program is for high school juniors and seniors and community college students who would like to attend UF CALS. The goal of this program is to promote UF CALS and provide students with an understanding of the enrollment process and prerequisites. Students will learn from CALS representatives about college majors and their entry requirements, distance education options, the importance of having a plan, and more.
After a welcome assembly, attendees will rotate through 4, 30 minute class sessions, then return to the large group assembly for a time of Q & A with a panel of UF CALS Alumni. Enjoy lunch with a UF CALS Alumni, get to know them and learn about their college experiences and the realities of their career- the good and the bad. During lunch and until 2:00 visit the expo where various UF CALS Departments and community & industry booths will be available.

UF CALS, It’s not as far away as you might think
CALS offers several degree and certificate programs and over 200 courses via distance education (DE). Undergraduate degree completion programs and additional live and videoconferencing courses are offered at various locations outside of the main campus Gainesville. In this session you will learn all about DE options.

Expo Visit UF CALS and ag industry booths. These booths will be informative and educational with demonstrations, visuals, hands-on activities, and experts ready to share their knowledge and provide insight on their career.
Registration opens April 24 and ends June 27
Fee: $15 in advance or $25 at the door

From SR 64 in Ona, turn south at the caution light onto CR 663. Travel 5 miles on 663 and turn right onto Goose Pond Road. *Travel 1.5 miles and turn left onto Experiment Station Road. Travel about a mile to reach the Range Cattle REC facilities.
From Arcadia -
Travel west on SR 70 about 1.5 miles to CR 661. Take a right on CR 661 and travel about 12 miles to Goose Pond Road. Take a left on Goose Pond Road (see Ona instructions at *).
From Bradenton -
From the junction of interstate 75 and SR 64 travel east to Ona and follow those directions above.
