A Residents Guide to Invasive Plants Commonly Sold in Garden Centers and Nurseries Workshop
Invasive species in Florida are of great concern. Florida has a myriad of invasive reptiles, birds, amphibians and insects that have taken up residence in the Sunshine State. Plants are no exception. Category I Invasive Exotic plants, such as water hyacinth, hydrilla, air potato and skunk vine, are costing millions of dollars to control.
But did you know that many Category I Invasive Exotics are sold in nurseries and garden centers? Come to our workshop and learn which plants are invasive. Our best preventative is to educate gardeners, landscape professionals, garden centers and nurseries of the impacts that these invasives have on our environment.
