Come join the Bug Club as we adventure outdoors on collecting trips, learn how to trap and curate insects, and meet scientists who spend their career learning about the insects that impact our lives. This camp comes complete with a set of insect collecting equipment and by the end of camp, you will have the start to a nice insect collection. Campers will collect data, make observations and communicate the information to others. The campers will also participate in field experiences and museum visits.
After we receive the camp registration and payment, the University of Florida will now require families to register their camper through an online system, https://florida.4honline.com. Once the payment for the camp is received, the camper name will be activated. Once activated, families will need to complete some online information for University of Florida Youth Conference Services compliance. Since we are a camp, you will indicate as a "State Office" instead as part of a county program. The website for continuing your registration is https://florida.4honline.com, but you will be unable to complete registration until after you have received a message stating that your camper has been accepted and is active in the system. Camp will be held both in indoor and outdoor settings. Campers will be transported to field insect collecting locations through state vehicles, and campers will need to provide their own lunches.
