Event description

Description

Come join us for our annual Utah Council for the Social Studies Conference. Our keynote speaker will be Sami Steigman, a Holocaust survivor. He will tell of experiences in the Nazi camps and the experiments done on him as a child, his liberation and experience growing up behind the Iron Curtain, and his migration to Israel and service in the Israeli military in the 1960s during some of the turmoil between Israel and Palestine. His personal experiences will be amazing to hear about and use in many of the social studies contents.

We will also be able to hear from Stan Ellsworth from the program American Ride, military experts on North Korea, other Holocaust researchers, and National Geographic. We will have sessions on the upcoming anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad and women's right to vote as well as on Martin Luther and AP Geography. Sessions will also be available on teaching strategies.

You can earn .5 USBE credits for attending the conference
