This will be UCSF Infusion’s Second Happy Hour and First Fundraiser of 2012!
We will be holding a competition to see who can raise the most money. For $10 you will be given a die-cut teddy bear with your name on it and for every additional $5 donate you will get a heart sticker to put on your bear. The top two people with the most heart stickers at the end of the night will win a prize (One person will win a signed Pat Burrell Mug).
The teddy bear idea was inspired by a UCSF PIC grant that provided both children & adults with a bear as a source of comfort in a time of need.
You can fundraise in advance or on-site. We hope this friendly competition will help everyone network and meet new people while also raising funds for a good cause.
When & Where
UCSF Partners in Care
UCSF Partners in Care is the historic medical auxiliary serving all campuses of UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. We help provide comfort and support to patients and their families when they need it most.
Each year, UCSF Partners in Care funds 15 - 25 different programs developed and administered by doctors, nurses and hospital staff at our three campuses: Parnassus, Mt. Zion and Mission Bay, and numerous clinics. The following examples illustrate the diversity of populations and needs we serve:
● Developmental Toys for infant stimulation and recovery;
● Isolation Materials for bone marrow transplant patients;
● Coping Kits to distract and relax pediatric patients during painful procedures;
● Sweatsuits and shoes for ER patients whose clothing is destroyed, who may be homeless, or who may be inadequately dressed for discharge;
● Corsages and Boutonnieres for the Pediatric Prom;
● Music is Good Medicine to calm, sooth, or promote spiritual healing.
This is true community service with immediate and on-going impact.
Cirque du Soiree is the primary, annual fundraising event for UCSF Partners in Care. Net proceeds from Cirque du Soiree fund the following year’s programs.
