One Health is a philosophy that recognises the interconnectedness of humans, animals and the environment they share. Applying a One Health approach to research requires collaboration within and across the disciplines, leading to highly creative and innovative solutions. University College Dublin advocates for a One Health approach to creating a better, healthier, more sustainable world.

To celebrate this, we are holding a one day in-person conference to highlight and recognise some of the excellent research underpinned by a One Health approach going on in Ireland and beyond.

This meeting will be cross cutting with talks on topics such Public Health, Animal Health, Environmental sustainability and comparative reproduction biology. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Mary Horgan, University College Cork, Prof. Máire Connolly, University of Galway, Prof. Maurice Pitesky, University of California, Davis, Prof. Patrick Wall, University College Dublin and Dr. Audrey Jenkinson, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. The day will finish on a highlight with a panel discussion on 'The Development of a Regional Framework for One Health' and will include participation from the World Health Organisation.

We welcome abstracts for poster or oral presentations. Please submit your abstract in this Google Form by Friday 9th June, 2023. Please note, we welcome abstracts from those who are not currently involved in One Health projects but who are interested in exploring One Health collaborations.

This event is kindly supported by the Irish Health Research Board.
