The University of California is launching its first-ever system-wide GIS Week from Nov. 17th - Nov. 19th, celebrating all things mapping!
About this event
Register now for the first UC GIS Week conference from Nov. 17th - 19th! The University of California GIS Week is an opportunity for you to learn and engage with experts and mapping projects across the UC system and beyond! Ask questions during the thematic mapping panels, engage with GIS industry professionals, interact with posters presenters, and connect during social events. The event will be hosted virtually through Zoom. All talks are free and open to the public!
Your registration entitles you attend any or all of the tentatively scheduled events below:
Tuesday - 11/17
- 11am – 12pm: Opening plenary – Collaboration Across the UCs
- 1pm – 2pm: Historical Geography Panel, Poster Session — Policy
- 3pm – 4pm: Workshop — Risk Assessment, Career Panel #1
Wednesday – 11/18
- 11am – 12pm: Natural Resources and Environmental Data Panel, Mapping for Social Justice Panel
- 1pm – 2pm: Public Health Panel, Career Panel #2
- 3pm – 4pm: Lightning Talks — Mapping Policy, Poster Session — Environmental Science and Public Health
Thursday – 11/19
- 11am – 12pm: Lightning Talks — Environmental Science
- 1pm – 2pm: Social Geography and the Built Environment Panel, Indigenous Cartographies and Counter Mapping Panel
- 3pm – 4pm: Workshop — Marine Archaeology, Promoting Public Health and GIS Panel
- 4pm -4:30pm: Celebratory Map up and Debrief
