UASEM Fire & Ice Night -- 2016
Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 6:00 PM - Monday, January 28, 2019 at 9:00 PM (EST)
**** Warm your winter night & brighten the future of New York City! ****
The Urban Assembly School for Emergency Management is a unique snowflake -- simultaneously cool and hot -- but, like public schools everywhere, we depend on extra funding in order to give students the rich and meaningful educational experience they deserve. Field trips, travel, technology, after-school programming, stipends for internships, teachers for arts classes – we simply cannot give our young people these critical services without your support.
**** Gather round the fire pole! ****
Join the extended UASEM community at the New York City Fire Museum -- a 1904 Beaux-Arts firehouse, formerly home to Engine Company No. 30 -- where we will gather to celebrate our accomplishments and support the work of our amazing teachers and students.
Your donation includes:
- admission to the NYC Fire Museum
- an open bar
- complimentary hors d’oeuvres
- live music
- fun prizes
- the company & conversation of an amazing community.
Can I share this invitation with my friends?
Yes please! This event is open to anyone who is passionate about closing the opportunity gap. We would love it if you could share it with the folks in your life who share your convictions!
Do I have to bring my printed receipt to the event?
You do not need to bring a printed receipt if you purchase in advance. We’ll have a list of attendees at the door.
Can I make my donation the day of the event?
Yes, but doing so ahead of time helps us know how many people to expect.

When & Where
The Urban Assembly School for Emergency Management
The Urban Assembly School for Emergency Management (UASEM) puts students in the shoes of emergency managers to hone the communication, collaboration, high-stakes problem-solving and complex reasoning skills they will need to succeed after high school in college or employment. By constantly applying what they learn in the classroom to disaster preparation and response scenarios, students will develop the confidence to pursue their dreams and the character to serve their communities.
The UASEM is a public Career and Technical Education high school that prepares students to engage in complex quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills with an understanding of the principles of Emergency Management. UASEM graduates will be equipped with the skills necessary for entry into the Emergency Management field and for a college of their choice. Our students will engage with internships, collaborative simulations, student-led community training, and strong industry partnerships. We are a continuous learning community invested in understanding our students’ needs for career and college readiness and developing the personal responsibility and empowerment of our students, parents, and staff.
