Join us at the University of Michigan (U-M) Injury Prevention Center 2020 Inaugural Research Symposium.

Location: U-M Campus, at the North Campus Research Complex (Building 18 - Dining Hall, next to the cafeteria) in Ann Arbor

The University of Michigan (U-M) Injury Prevention Center has organized an unique event for researchers, post-doctoral fellows, and students to disseminate research, facilitate new collaborations, and explore ideas for new research in injury prevention science.

Featuring Keynote Speaker: Amy Bohnert, Ph.D., MHS

Dr. Bohnert is a public health researcher who serves as the Opioid Content Lead at the U-M Injury Prevention Center. She is an Associate Professor in the University of Michigan Medical School. The keynote will focus on her innovative injury prevention work on opioid overdose and suicide.

The symposium will emphasize these injury prevention topics:

• Opioid Overdose

• Suicide

• Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

• Older Adult Falls

• Motor Vehicle Crash

• Concussion

• Youth Violence (peer violence, dating violence, sexual assault)

Call for Poster Abstracts

We are accepting poster abstracts that will identify innovative strategies to expand and enhance injury prevention research and prevention, contribute to the adoption of new evidence-based practices, highlight the translation and communication of injury prevention science and information, or describe effective partnerships among and between organizations in developing new collaborative prevention approaches. Submissions highlighting research or practice are welcome. After review, authors will be notified of the planning committee’s decision by email.

All abstracts will be presented in the form of a poster only. Submit your abstract by Monday, February 24, 2020. Click here to see the call for poster abstracts.
