Description

Tzedek Chicago's High Holiday services will be led by Rabbi Brant Rosen, clergy assistant Jay Stanton, cantorial soloist Leah Shoshanah and will feature musician Steve Gibons and musician/poet Adam Gottlieb as well as a variety of guest musicians, poets and speakers. Our children’s program will be led by Tzedek's family program coordinator, Aviva Stein.


Schedule:

  • Monday, September 30, 10:00 AM: Rosh Hashanah Morning Service

  • Monday, September 30, 3:00 PM: Tashlich (Montrose Beach)

  • Tuesday, October 8, 6:30 PM: Yom Kippur Eve (Kol Nidre) Service

  • Wednesday, October 9, 10:00 AM: Yom Kippur Morning Service

  • Wednesday, October 9, 2:00 PM: Yom Kippur Afternoon Presentation/Concert with Yonaton Shapira

  • Wednesday, October 9, 4:00 PM: Yom Kippur Closing Service


Cost:

$25.00 per service

$60.00 combined cost for Rosh Hashanah morning, Yom Kippur Eve and Yom Kippur morning

Tashlich, Yom Kippur Afternoon programming and the Yom Kippur closing service are free and open to the public.


Child Care:

Child Care for children ages 2 to 10 will be provided at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur morning services.

During morning services, there will also be two tracks of children’s programming: one hour for children ages 6 to 11 and one hour for children 12 and older.

Do I need to be a member of Tzedek Chicago to attend High Holiday services?

Tzedek Chicago services are open to all and there is no difference in the cost of services for members and non-members. Our membership drive begins immediately after High Holidays. What is the childcare?

Childcare is babysitting for children ages 2-10 offered during Rosh Hashanah services and on Yom Kippur morning services. While there is no formal programming in childcare, we will provide simple activities for children.

Will there be services for school-aged children?

This year, for the first time, we will be offering children's programming for ages 6 - 11 and 12 and older. These programs will be led by our Family Programming Coordinator and offered during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur morning services.

Do I need to register for Tashlich (on September 30); the Yom Kippur Afternoon Program and the Concluding Service (on October 9).

These programs are open to the public. There is no cost and you do not need to register for them.
