TypeThursday Seattle January
Event Information
Description
It is that time again, typefans! We will be having our next event on January 24!
Type Thursday Seattle is a monthly meet-up for everybody who loves letterforms: typography, calligraphy, lettering, type design, sign painting, even ceramic letters and more!
Each month we welcome four brave practitioners who are willing to present one of their current projects for an audience-participation crit session. Bring us your unfinished projects - they can be a type you are developing, a poster that uses type, your UI project that needs great readability!
Iinterested? Please email our Critique Lead at critique@sajatypeworks.com.
The structure of the three-hour evening event is an hour of networking and socializing, then an hour of crits, and finally another hour of mingling, talking, and more networking. Light snacks will be provided!
We are still experimenting with our RSVP policy, and this month we are doing a donation-based RSVP.
What to Expect (Roughly):
6:30pm – 7:00pm: Check in & Networking
7:00pm - Opening Statements | Introduction
7:15pm – 8:15pm: Type Critiques
8:15pm – 9:30pm: More Networking
Event Host Partner: WeWork South Lake Union
National Sponsor: Adobe Typekit
Seattle Event Partners: AIGA Seattle
FAQs
Am I required to show work?
Not at all! You’re welcome to come and learn, socialize, have a good time. We do encourage participating in the critiques and asking questions that would benefit the presenters and the community.
What kind of work can I bring to the event?
Bring your work-in-progress projects that are typographic, or have typography being an important piece of the project. Anything where type designers and educators can help you!
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Feel free to email commttsea@gmail.com with any questions or concerns. Can't make it to this event but want to stay in the loop about the next events? Subscribe to our mailing list here!
Just so you know: WeWork requires that we share the emails of all the attendees since this is a free event - it is their standard policy.
