Event description

Description

Join us for a day of education and connection with our local T1D community. We are honored to welcome Dr. Fran Kaufman, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Global Affairs, Medtronic Diabetes, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Kaufman is also a Distinguished Professor Emerita of Pediatrics at USC. Dr. Kaufman’s update will discuss “The Journey to the Closed Loop and the Journey of Diabetes Around the World.” We are also excited to end the day with a motivational moment with Open-Wheel Race Car Driver Charlie Kimball, the first and only licensed driver with diabetes in the history of INDYCAR to win a race at the most elite level of the series.

Several breakout sessions will be offered throughout the day on a variety of type 1 diabetes (T1D) topics, including mental health, exercise, school, technology and well-being.

While parents attend the speaking program, children enjoy Kids Camp with structured activities, arts and crafts and entertainment. New this year is our Teen Central, a place for teens to connect and enjoy tailored programming, specific to teen and T1D topics.

The event also includes a Vendor Exhibition, where guests will have the opportunity to speak with diabetes experts from leading T1D companies and healthcare providers.

There is no cost to attend Type One Nation. Lunch will be provided.
