The Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter cordially invites you to join other individuals, families, and caregivers affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) at all life stages for a day of education and connection at the 2017 TypeOneNation Summit. Talk to experts about research advances, meet with other attendees to exchange ideas, and participate in discussions important to you.
Children ages 5-18 may join the Youth Program or Teen Track and enjoy activities and educational programming throughout the day.
The Vendor Hall, showcasing the latest in diabetes management tools and technology, local support and educational resources, and diabetes camps, will be open all day. In addition, TrialNet will be on-site conducting screenings. Please visit their table in the Vendor Hall for more information or to sign up for a screening time.
Newly diagnosed? Visit our Newly Diagnosed Welcome Center at the Summit to connect in an informal setting with other adults and parents of children with T1D as well as JDRF chapter staff.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON PARKING AT THE MARRIOTT:
Due to construction, there will be no on-site parking at the Marriott for our Summit. However, there are many convenient options for getting to and parking near the Marriott:
Take METRO to White Flint (Red Line). Once you exit the Metro station, cross Rockville Pike using the pedestrian tunnel and the Marriott is ahead on the right.
Park for free at the White Flint Metro parking garage. The Marriott is a short two-block walk from the garage on Marinelli Rd. Parking is free on the weekends.
Utilize the Marriott’s complimentary shuttle from their off-site parking lot at 6130 Executive Boulevard. The shuttle will run approximately every five minutes.
What is the cost to attend this event?
The Summit is free to attend, however the suggested donation is $45 per person, which covers the cost of the venue and lunch.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No tickets will be sent and you do not need to bring a copy of your registration confirmation. When you arrive, you may check-in at the tables in the Grand Foyer and make a nametag or simply proceed to your breakout session / the main program.
