This 1.5 hour session gives a general overview of the Trinity TYLEC (Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate). The main objectives of the session are to give prospective applicants the chance to come to meet us in person and to give a general overview of the course with a focus on how it can help trainees develop specific skills for working with young learners. Current approaches and methods in TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) will be explored and the session will include a 30 minute mini-workshop on child development and why the developing child should be at the centre of every methodological decision.
