Children who experience trauma have disproportionate contact with the justice system. Juvenile Defenders need to be both trauma informed and trauma responsive to effectively represent their clients in and out of the courtroom. The Youth Advocacy Division (YAD), in conjunction with the Childhood Trauma Training Center (CTTC) at UMASS Worcester is sponsoring a Two Part Training for juvenile defenders and advocates.

Part One of this training will cover what every advocate needs to know about their clients who have a trauma history.

Part Two will be a hands on training where participants will work on practical skills needed in representing clients’ with a trauma history.
