Two Part Invention, an ensemble made up of Nora Suggs, flute, and John Arnold, guitar, will perform on Saturday, February 8 at 3 p.m.

About this Event

The Moravian Historical Society is pleased to announce that Two Part Invention, an ensemble made up of Nora Suggs, flute, and John Arnold, guitar will perform "Morning Star–Music in Moravian America" on Saturday, February 8 at 3 p.m. in the historic 1740-1743 Whitefield House Museum.

Tickets $10 for the general public, $5 with student ID, and free for Moravian Historical Society members. Limited seating; reservations recommended. Please note the concert will be held on the second floor and is only accessible by stairs due to the historic nature of the building.

Audiences can step back in time as this intimate and historic setting will help re-create the ambience of the original performances of the music on the program.

The program arranged by Suggs and Arnold is based on research conducted at local historical collections such as the Moravian Music Foundation, the Moravian Archives, and collections owned by Historic Bethlehem.

Arnold has long had a career as a full-time guitarist and guitar teacher. He performs up and down the East coast, both as a chamber musician and as a soloist with orchestra. In addition to being a member of Two Part, Suggs is the founder of Satori, the Valley's resident chamber music ensemble. She also pursues interests in the Irish penny whistle and the Japanese bamboo flute. Both Arnold and Suggs teach at Moravian College.
