Description, Agenda, and CE Overview:

This training provides group and individual therapists with proven experiential exercises that utilize dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills to help treat your clients with addiction and trauma. We will introduce the advantages of using experiential therapy to facilitate groups for trauma and addiction that can help in regulating emotions and tolerating stress. You will learn and practice techniques used in experiential exercises, warm ups, and closing interventions.

This training is didactic and experiential in teaching basic concepts in the theoretical and practical understanding of the methods of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. The techniques demonstrate how the dialectic can be used as an action method with groups, families, couples, individual therapy.

You will learn the professional techniques to facilitate clients toward: resolving inner conflicts, coping with grief or loss, release feelings of depression and anxiety, and move toward building healthy and nurturing relationships. Training consists of two levels. Cognitive presentations and experiential practice and demonstrations.

Continuing education credit for this event is co-sponsored, in part, by Onsite Workshops and The Institute for Continuing Education. The program offers 13.50 contact hours, with full attendance required ( 7.50 hrs. for May 16th; 6.00 hrs. for May 17th). There is no additional fee to receive CE credit.
