Day 1 - GDPR Implementation, Assessment, and Auditing Approaches

Background


With the passing of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) in which all companies who have past & present EU resident’s data, will be required to implement business processes and technical solutions to meet the GDPR mandates which includes complete removal of all traces of an individual' identify from the company's systems if requested. Companies will need to comply or be subject of fines of 4% of annual revenues. This regulation not only impacts EU companies but all companies worldwide whose customers and employees reside in the EU.

Seminar Objective


This GDPR seminar has been restructured to provide attendees a consolidated view of how to implement, assess and audit the project . This seminar is intended to provide attendees the base level knowledge required to (1) conduct a “point-in-time” Assessment to provide a basis to determine the current stage of GDPR compliance and identify the remaining project initiatives, (2) manage the implementation of the GDPR project, and (3) conduct a GDPR Pre-Implementation Audit.

The seminar for mid-level IT (including GDPR project managers), GRC and audit professionals but would also be highly invaluable for Senior Management who need to understand the scope of this project and how it impacts their organizations

Day 2 - Managing and Auditing Cybersecurity – Data, Infrastructure and Applications


Seminar Objective/Background


After being on the audit side for the first half of his career 30 year career, the instructor has spent most of the last 15 years consulting full-time with systems development groups, Infrastructure groups and data centers, uncovering many cybersecurity control issues which were in many instances unknown to the most experienced auditors. The instructor has devised unique methods for performing compliance testing which disclose major gaps in an organization’s control design.

Learning Outcomes


Attendees will achieve the following learning outcomes:


* Will be able to identify the production resources which need to be included in-scope for a security access audit

* Understand the controls that need to be established to prevent traditional access controls from being bypassed

* Identify key network security design initiatives required to prevent cyber security attacks

* Understand the key components to performing an effective data privacy audit

* Understanding the control requirements within a mid-tier environment

Speaker Bios:

Mitchell Levine, CISA is the founder of Audit Serve, Inc. which was established in 1990. For the last 28 years at Audit Serve, Mitch has split his time between traditional IT & Integrated Audit Consulting projects, establishing Continuous Audit Monitoring Programs, conducting Risk Assessments, guiding companies to PCI Compliance and performing SOX Implementation/Testing Projects. Mitch conducts 10-12 seminars per year on the leading topics which impact the Audit & Security profession. Mitch still finds the time to spend at least 200 days per year on consulting projects.


Prior to establishing Audit Serve, Mr. Levine was an IT Audit Manager at Citicorp where his duties included managing a team of IT Auditors which were responsible for auditing 25+ service bureaus and the corporate financial systems.
