In the history of our country, there have been epic battles that have defined our country’s character. North versus South being the obvious. But also, Bordeaux versus California Cabernet. Chicago Deep Dish versus New York Style Pizza. Tupac versus Biggie. The New York Real Housewives versus the Atlanta Real Housewives. And here in Massachusetts, Cambridge versus Boston.
We’re brewing up a battle that combines a little bit of all these elements and turns it into one big battle for a good time.
Two chefs, Seth Morrison of The Gallows in Boston and Michael Scelfo of Russell House Tavern in Cambridge, have been given basic parameters for five courses - oysters, late harvest summer vegetables, fish, pork, and cheese - and told to knock our socks off.
TJ Douglas of The Urban Grape will pair old world and new world wine pairings with the food, in an epic battle of wine geekiness that should finally determine, once and for all, whether wines from the Americas can out perform Europe’s.
Through it all, DJ Pfranchize will be spinning the best examples of Old School versus New School Hip Hop. And perhaps, if we can convince him, even The Countess LuAnn single versus and Kim Zolciak single, just because how funny would that be?
Will a victor of this battle royale be crowned? Probably not. Will we leave with bellies full of food and wine, and hearts full of song? Oh, most definitely.
**Ticket price includes 10 small plates and 10 wine tastings. We're sorry, but we are unable to accomodate specialized diets.
