Games often need to use APIs for user management, analytics, crash reporting, authorization, social features, and more. In this talk, I'll give you a brief intro to GraphQL and explain why it's a great solution for many different use-cases.

Matt Auerbach Is A NYC-Based Developer Advocate At Twitch. The Advocacy Team Educates Developers Regarding Products And Offerings, And Acts As The Primary Point Of Contact For Assistance And Feedback. Matt Is A Mild-Mannered Programmer Who Enjoys Using Technology To Solve Problems And Making People's Lives Easier. By Night, However...Well He Does Pretty Much The Same Thing. You Can Find Matt Streaming On /TwitchDev Or /Mauerbac, And Building Tutorials On Glitch. He Previously Worked In Developer Relations At Optimizely, Amazon Web Services, And Twilio.
Jon Bulava
Jonathan Bulava leads the Developer Advocacy at Twitch focusing on educational content, outreach, and assistance for developers who build integrations for the Twitch community. Jon was previously the Managing Editor for Developer Marketing at Twitch, as well as the Editor in Chief for Developer Marketing and a Developer Advocate at Twitter where he built content to highlight developer success and spoke at technical events. Before his days in developer relations, Jon was the Director of Studio Services for Trendrr creating custom on-air real time data visualizations for television networks, which led to an acquisition by Twitter.
