Event description

Description

In this one-man show, based on his book, A Twist of Lemmon, pianist and actor Chris Lemmon pays tribute to his father, beloved Academy Award-winning actor, Jack Lemmon. Told entirely in Jack’s voice, the touching performance explores the unique, yet universal father/son journey, and the impact of worldwide superstardom on a family. Chris tells this heartwarming story as he plays some of the greatest music of Jack’s era, along with a few of his own compositions. His portrayal features his father’s familiar mannerisms — the fast-paced speech coupled with his iconic stutter and laugh — and provides a personal glimpse into the life Jack led during the golden age of Hollywood.

This fall, Chris will be teaching a special topics course — “The Golden Age of Hollywood” — at the University of New Haven.

Chris Lemmon is Jack Lemmon “In a story that will make you laugh, cry, then laugh again” — LA Times

“It’s hard to believe it’s Chris and not Jack onstage” — LA Examiner

“An honest and loving, living memoir” — Chicago Sun-Times
