Event description

Description

Forest Bathing is a beautiful way to deeply relax and restore. Past participants have described the practice as, "Beautiful, Transformative, Magical, Connecting and Healing", offering a "Profoundly impactful experience to help improve upon your life and relationship to nature and The Earth." and , "Helped me deeply relax; become fully present and step out of my day to day stresses."

Join me for twilight forest bathing in the splendor and beauty of The Julia Davis Park Rose Garden. We will immerse in the elements and discover a new way to be in nature. During this facilitated mindfulness practice called, Shinrin Yoku, we'll let go of stress, slow way down and awaken our senses as we become fully present and connect with the medicine of the natural world, ourselves and others. We will gently cover less than a mile of easy garden and park grounds, over flat terrain. You will be guided through a series of sensory connection invitations to practice Forest Bathing and a new level of Nature Mindfulness. We will complete our experience with a tea ceremony, tasting locally foraged tea.

"Forest Bathing" (translated from "Shinrin-Yoku," an established public health practice in Japan) is a growing global wellness movement backed by 30 years of scientific research on the physical and psychological benefits of immersing yourself in nature. See more, on the science of forest bathing, including recent national media coverage on forest bathing at www.wildwellnessguide.com.

Please bring what you need to stay comfortable- water, hat, sunglasses, a medium size towel and small daypack to hold your things. If you plan to use mosquito repellant, please do so before the event. (I also offer essential oil-based bug repellant for the group). For your safety and comfort, close-toed shoes w/ good traction are recommended. Clothing layers are helpful to stay comfortable in all temperatures. (we move very slowly and do not work up body heat), Dress for comfort as we may be on the ground.

Includes tea and snack; some sitting mats are available.

Unplug • Relax • Renew • Slow Down
