Event description

Description

"If music be the food of love, play on." Five British actors use inventive staging to bring to life one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies. Can true love triumph over shipwreck, mistaken identities, and trickery?

Founded in 1975 by Sir Patrick Stewart, the Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) is a dual-focus residency program that tours the United States each fall and spring. The troupe is made up of a rotating cast of five classically-trained British actors from such prestigious companies as Shakespeare's Globe, the National Theatre, and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The AFTLS ensemble deftly combines innovative staging with essential props and minimalist costumes: Each actor shares responsibility for the direction of the play and performs two or three major roles (as well as several minor ones). Through imagination and collaboration, the cast conjures Shakespeare's immortal words and worlds into being.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Little Theatre is located at the east end of Philathea Hall on Grace College campus (Building #7 on our Campus Map). Seating in The Little Theatre is first come, first served. We recommend arriving 20 minutes before showtime.

Is the theatre handicap accessible?

Please note that The Little Theatre truly is a little theatre. Entering the theatre requires navigating a short flight of stairs (about 6). If you're concerned about accessing our facilities or would like to request assistance in advance, please contact Dr. Lauren Rich (richlg@grace.edu).
