Training Description

Learn to turn Disability Awareness into Workplace Success! In a time of labor shortages and pending mass retirements, many Florida employers are finding that increasing choice of candidates is critical for organizational success. Persons with disabilities represent a large and widely underutilized talent pool of qualified candidates across various industries. What keeps these two groups from connecting? How might employers access this underutilized talent pool? Through this interactive session, participants will increase disability awareness and identify benefits of inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workforce. Through practical tips, hiring authorities will learn how to identify and address inclusion barriers for workplace success.

No- fee training. No catch.

The following training event is being offered to BCDI partner organizations. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, BCDI is able to offer quality Diversity & Disability Inclusion training to members that supports their organization’s corporate goals and aids their bottom line. Learn and benefit from the unique perspective and experiences of expert Employment Consultants that have supported hundreds of organizations with Diversity & Disability Inclusion. Comparable training has been offered at $295+ per session.

About BCDI

As part of a 3-year pilot project in Hernando, Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties, The Diversity Initiative’s Business Center for Diversity & Inclusion (BCDI) was established to help achieve the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation’s (VR) goal of becoming a top resource to the business community.

Funded by the Florida Department of Education Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Business Center intends to partner with and offer employers access to no-fee training presentations, consultations and referrals to better promote, prepare, and support their interest in, or commitment to, becoming more inclusive in their hiring practices. Data collected from this project is intended to secure valuable feedback from employers that will assist in improving employment rates for Persons with Unique Abilities.

If you are in need of any accomodations to access and/or fully participate in this training, please do not hesitate to reach out and discuss your needs.
