PROGRAM BACKGROUND

The Turner School of Construction Management was initiated in 1969 and is the oldest community outreach program in the history of Turner Construction. The initiative was designed to support the engagement, development overall capacity building of minority and small business interests in the construction industry. To address industry growing needs and to build the capacity of Latino interests, Turner Construction is participating in a pilot partnership, Construye-DC: Latinos Thriving in Construction, by offering, for the first time ever, current class materials translated into Spanish.

Specific Classes will include:

Sept 12: Market Overview, Bidding, Estimating, Procurement

Sept 19: Construction Accounting and a Subcontractor Panel Discussion

Sept 26: Field Operations, Quality and Safety

Oct 3: Insurance and Bonding
