Student Speaker - Tunxis student Kathryn Plourde, a recipient of the Foundation’s Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Scholarship, June 2016. In addition to her Tunxis studies, Plourde works full time for Filomeno & Company, P.C. as supervisor of an administrative team of four. She leads the Firm’s “50 Acts of Kindness” campaign as the director of culture

Each year, our objective is to bring you exciting speakers whose experiences and stories will help you become more successful in dealing with the day-to-day challenges in your professional and personal lives. This year, we're pleased to announce that our speaker will be Bonnie Stewart, Vice President of Government and Public Affairs and General Counsel for Connecticut Business Industry and Association (CBIA).
Key issue areas for Stewart have included business taxes, labor and employment, healthcare and liability. Stewart serves, and has served, on numerous task forces, councils and boards studying such matters as property taxes, medical privacy, numerous labor and employment law matters, and non-compete agreements.
Before joining CBIA in 1988, Stewart worked for the office of the Connecticut Attorney General. She received her J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire and her bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Connecticut.
