Tomolodon Always Wins
Adorable, curious, and fun-loving 4-year old Thomas Glackin was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). RMS is a childhood cancer that develops in the body’s soft tissues. Treatment usually includes chemotherapy to shrink the tumor and prevent new tumors from forming typically followed by radiation as an additional line of defense. Surgery is also a possibility.
The Jordan Family, with special friends, will be hosting a night of Irish Music and Craic on Friday, February 15 at the Irish American in Malden as a fundraiser to help offset the financial burden resulting from Thomas' fight against cancer. Thomas’s dad (Tommy) is our cousin and hails from Malin Head in Donegal – the home of our grandmother and a very special place for our dad.
We are fortunate to be joined by the Devri Band who will be providing Irish entertainment that evening. On vocals, guitar & mandolin is Declan Houton who also was born and raised in Malin Co., Donegal.
Thomas has already started his aggressive chemotherapy treatments at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. Aside from treatment, there will be countless doctor appointments for blood work, scans, and additional therapy which will involve dozens and dozens of trips in and out of Manhattan. To say the least this is going to be a long and exhaustive journey for Thomas and his parents, Caitlin and Tommy. It will also be expensive.
We sincerely hope you can join us to help out Tommy and Caitlin during this difficult time and ask that you keep this family of five in your thoughts and prayers.
