Event Details

Dear Fellow TUMS Medical Alumni,

Studying medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) resonates with excellence, pioneership and a sense of pride. Years after graduation and being scattered throughout the world, there is no better time to reunite and celebrate who we were, who we are and who we will be on our individual and collective paths.

Within that context, we are organizing an extended reunion event this summer in order to foster lifelong intellectual and emotional connections between ourselves as fellow expatriate TUMS Medical Alumni and build bridges across entry classes, disciplines and geographical distances that has virtually kept us apart.

As people may travel long distances to attend this event, a full weekend program has been designed to give us enough opportunity to reconnect, be inspired and to plan for long-lasting connections and ventures that may arise from our shared visions and collective energy. Based on feedback we received, this event is going to happen in San Diego, California from August 17 (6pm) to August 20 (noon).

You may register for the full event or register for smaller bundles listed below depending on your availability,  interests and budget. If your partner, guest or significant other would like to register for the full event or any of the smaller bundles, you may add those purchases in addition to yours. Moreover, you can register your child(ren) to join us for the same bundle that you purchased for your partner or guest at a discounted rate or for free.

This is a self-initated non-profit event without any affiliation or funding from an external source or religious, political or social group. If you plan to attend the event, please register as soon as possible to avoid any disappointments due to limited number of tickets available and growing demands. We all look forward to seeing you in person in San Diego this August.

FAQs

Who is this event for?

This event is primarily for TUMS Medical Alumni living in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. The majority of those who expressed interest are quite established in their careers; however, the event is open to those who are earlier in their careers and would like to network with more senior alumni. 

Why did you choose San Diego and United States?

In December 2017, we conucted a survey to assess TUMS alumni's interests and preferences. Other locations in Europe, Northeast, Midwest and Colorado were also on the table. San Diego received the highest number of votes. We understand it might pose some challenges for individuals without dual citizenships; therefore, we will do our best to rotate the location of the reunion in upcoming years.

Do you support us to obtain US visa?

Unfortunately at this point, we cannot offer any assiatance for you to obtain US visa if you require that. Please consider the risks of visa rejections and delays in the processing of your application. After July 17, we won't be able to issue any refunds due to any reasons.

When and how can I book my hotel room(s)?

After contracting with the hotel (early March), we will offer a block of rooms with a discounted rate for you to reserve your accommodation. Alternatively, you may stay at any hotel that fits your standards and preferences. 

Do you have any special programs for my family members?

Once we have a better idea of who will attend, we will organize and offer some programs specifcally designed for your family members. For those wishing to bring along their partners, guests and children to the dinner programs, they may purchase their tickets here. Also, if both partners are TUMS alumni or a partner wishes to attend our mixer sessions, workshops, brainsotrming sessions and group hiking, he or she may register for the appropriate bundle listed below.

What is NOT included in the registration fees?

Registration does not include airfare, airport-hotel transfers, hotel stay, breakfasts, drinks, Sunday dinner and any other incidental expenses during your stay.

What's the refund policy?

You may cancel your ticket and request a refund for up to 30 days prior to the event. After that cutoff point, no refund will be issued.
