Event Details

The GTAC Board of Directors is glad to have CY Lynch speak at this year's TBIF event where Cy will present four topics near and dear to the heart of stock investors who believe in investing based on stock fundametals.

The topics to be presented by CY incude: Taking Advantage of the Bull and Preparing for the Bear, Portfolio Centered Decsion Making, Growth - What it is and Why it's Important, and The Preferred Procedure - Not Harder, Just better.

Taking Advantage of the Bull and Preparing for the Bear

We’ll first review past market cycles, concentrating on the last two bull/bear cycles, in an attempt to answer whether or not long-term stock investing is still viable.  We’ll also look at whether individual investors can succeed by investing in individual stocks or should use index mutual funds instead. Then using a lessons learned approach, we’ll explore specific portfolio management techniques to help maximize gains in up markets, while minimizing them in down ones.

 Portfolio Centered Decision Making

Not confident about the overall quality and potential return of your portfolio? Can’t decide which stock to buy more of? Not sure when you should sell a stock? In this class, Cy explains why it’s best to make portfolio management decisions by focusing on the potential impact on your overall portfolio, rather than just looking at a stock in isolation. He’ll then use practical examples to demonstrate how portfolio-centered decision-making can simplify your investment decisions and take emotion out of portfolio management, especially the dreaded decision to sell.

Growth – What It Is and Why It Matters

Growth” is one of the most used, and misused, words in an investor’s vocabulary. Join Cy as he explains just what growth is, and shows that it isn’t increases in earnings per share. We’ll also examine why distinctions between “growth” and “value” stocks are practically useless and often misleading. Then we will turn to why true growth is a long-term investor’s best friend, ways to improve your growth projections and how you can put growth to work in your portfolio.

Preferred Procedure – Not Harder, Just Better

An oft repeated mantra is “price follows earnings, earnings follow sales, therefore price follows sales.” That’s generally true over the long-term and the Preferred Procedure helps us see why. Join Cy as he debunks concerns over the “complexity” of the Preferred Procedure and demonstrates how using it provides insight into the company’s business model and the interrelationship between changes in its growth and profitability and bottom line EPS.

This investment education workshop is designed to appeal to a range of investors with varying degrees of investment experience.  So if you are interested in learning the ABCs about FUNdamental investing register today!
