This is the annual Pilgrimage for Life sponsored by the Diocese of Tulsa. From January 25-29, 2017, we will travel to Washington, DC to witness for the unborn surrounding the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, legalizing abortion in all States.
The Pilgrimage for Life advocates for the sanctity of human life in all of its stages. Join hundreds of thousands of citizens as we attend the largest annual pro-life rally in the world!
What does "21 PLUS BUS" mean?
To register, you must be 21 years of age by December 1, 2016. The reason it is called the "21 PLUS BUS" is because the events, conversations, and beverages will be for adults only.
Suppose I change my mind? Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, all sales are final and we cannot issue refunds.
What is included in the cost?
Transportation from Tulsa to Washington and back, along with a couple of meals, the conferences, the March For Life itself, and beer, wine, and other beverages on board the bus.
Will I need any money?
Yes, a total of about $175.00 to be safe.
Every participant should bring enough money for their meals (15 meals) during travel. About $150.00 is recommended for food - an average of $25.00 per day. Participants should also be aware that while in Washington, lunch will be quick and light and dinner will be late. Bringing snacks is encouraged so that hunger may be curbed.
A MetroCard is also a great idea once we get to Washington; so plan on $25.00 to be able to ride the metro for the times it is needed on the pilgrimage.
How are we getting there, and where are we staying?
We will travel by motorcoach with Village Tours and Travel. Two nights will be spent on that motorcoach (bus). We will be staying at the Carlyle Holiday Inn in Alexandria, Virginia.
What else should we bring?
Everyone should bring at least a 6-pack of bottled water for the bus. You'll need clothes for the trip, and plan on it being EXTREMELY cold. All participants should prepare to dress in several layers with ear, face, and head covering. Also, bring whatever you need to be comfortable on the bus. There will be WIFI. Depending upon our location, it may not always work the entire trip. Mountain ranges are typically bad for WIFI.
Will I be chaperoning youth on this trip?
Nope. While there will be youth pilgrims from Oklahoma attending the March, the young adults (age 21 and up) will have their own bus, and for the most part (save for the March itself and the Mass to begin the trip), their own schedule on the pilgrimage to Washington.
What else do I need to know?
Expect to walk several MILES per day. Even stopping for meals, there will be walking involved. Good shoes are a must, and all pilgrims must be able to keep up with the group.
What is the schedule?
The schedule is tentative and subject to change. You are adults, so you are actually free to attend what you would like. Below is the tentative schedule.
