Students who register for the course will participate in 40 hours of classwork and three field studies, and will have to complete a capstone project in order to graduate.  The course is open to members of the public age 18 years and up.  Classes are limited to 20 students.

DATES AND TIMES

Classes will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The 40 hours of classwork for our debut course will take place at the Woodland Public Library over ten consecutive Fridays in early 2018:

  • Friday, February 2, 2018
  • Friday, February 9, 2018
  • Friday, February 16, 2018
  • Friday, February 23, 2018
  • Friday, March 2, 2018
  • Friday, March 9, 2018
  • Friday, March 16, 2018
  • Friday, March 23, 2018
  • Friday, March 30, 2018
  • Friday, April 6, 2018

Field trips are held on Saturdays, and usually take the majority of the day.  Field trips for the debut course will be held on the following dates:

  • Saturday, February 10, 2018
  • Saturday, March 3, 2018
  • Saturday, March 24, 2018

Continuing education credits are available for the course from the University of California.

COSTS

Students will be expected to purchase the required textbook for the course.  You can order the textbook directly from the University of California or through other book outlets.

  • Early Bird Registration cost for the 10-week course: $349.00 CLOSED
  • Waiting List Registration cost for the 10-week course: $349.00

There is still ONE scholarship available. Students approved for a scholarship only have to pay $50 for the course (to cover the fee we have to pay to the University), and purchase their own textbook. all other registration fees are waived.

NOTE: Once the registration fee has been paid, no refunds are given for any reason (except in the event that Tuleyome has to cancel the class).

Tuleyome

Tuleyome was founded in 2002 as a volunteer advocacy-oriented nonprofit conservation organization. Our mission statement reads: “Tuleyome engages in advocacy and active stewardship with diverse communities to conserve, enhance, restore, and enjoy the lands in the region.”   We serve communities mainly throughout Yolo, Lake, Napa, Mendocino, Solano, Glenn and Colusa Counties, but also do outreach in Sacramento County.
