Description

What is the Tulane Pro Basketball Negotiation Competition ("TPBNC")?

The TPBNC's inaugral competition will be held March 2-3, 2018. The competition is one of only a few sports negotiation competitions in the world. The primary idea behind the TPBNC is to gather the world's best student negotiators who are interested in pursuing a career in basketball and allow them to compare their negotiation skills and by doing so prepare for the complex negotiations they will face after graduation. Participating in TPBNC offers a great opportunity to experience diverse ways of negotiation and to meet and network with students and professionals from different backgrounds who all share a passion for negotiation and basketball.

The Founders

The TPBNC is brought to you by the Tulane Sports Law Society which also hosts the annual International Baseball Arbitration Competition and the Tulane Pro Football Negotiation Competition. Tulane is now proud to offer our third professional negotiation competition for students interested in pursuing careers in basketball.

The Format

Through compelling negotiation methods and strategies, the participating teams must prove their skills and compete through three qualification rounds centered around NBA Restricted Free Agency. The best teams advance to the final in which they compete in front of a panel of judges comprised of NBA Front Office Executives, NBPA Certified Agents, and other professionals with professional negotiation experience. The best team wins a trophy and the title "Executives of the Year".

Registration

To apply to The Tulane Pro Basketball Negotiation Competition please form a team of 3 graduate students. Submit a CV of each team member, complete with your negotiation knowledge and experience to tulanepbnc@gmail.com. We look forward to receiving your applications before February 1, 2018. If selected for the competition, the registration fee to compete is $400 per team.
